Night RatingRather than landing due to dark, continue and get to your destination as planned.
What are the privileges of a Night Rating?
The Night Rating allows you to act as Pilot-in-Command in visual conditions at night. It can be invaluable if you get delayed during a flight and may enable you to continue to your destination, rather than land somewhere else over night.
What are the requirements of the course?
The Night Rating course comprises of five hours of flight instruction at night, covering night familiarisation, circuits and circuit emergencies, five solo take-off and landings and navigation at night.
How long is it valid for?
Night Ratings are non-expiring, so as long as your licence is valid, your Night Rating is too. However, to carry passengers you must have completed three take-off and landings in the last 90 days, one of which must have been at night.
